Our Drawn-out Easter

Yes, I'm still trying to catch up on my posts, sorry! Please bare with me...

This year our Easter was a bit long. We started out a bit early having an Easter egg hunt at my cousins house. Hannah and Gabe had a wonderful time. Gabe became more interested in a little scooter than hunting for eggs but hey, whatever floats his boat, right?

As for Hannah, she had a wonderful time hunting for eggs and hanging out with her cousins. In the past, Hannah has been the more timid-type of egg hunter. We can't even take her to the city hunt or she freaks out because of all the kids just start diving for eggs and climbing over each other and stuff. It's just not her scene. But here with her 10 cousins (not 100, like the city hunts), who weren't confined to a 10x10 area to hunt for eggs, she seemed to do really well and came home with quite a few eggs!

Here are some photos of me and the girls & Greg and the boys! It was fun hanging out with the family!

We decided to leave a little early because Hannah and I began not feeling well. By the next morning, we were sick. Come Easter Sunday, we as a family, had to stay home from church because we were all under the weather. And there's nothing worse than being sick on a holiday because the Easter Bunny and Santa still seem to show up even if we're not wanting them to come. We decided to wait until the next sunday to wear Easter clothing, dye eggs, and eat Easter dinner, which meant we were still celebrating Easter a week after it was over. Next year I think we'll stick to celebrating on the Saturday & Sunday only! What a concept :)

Hannah's Leprechaun Trap

For school, Hannah made a leprechaun trap so that on St. Patrick's Day she could catch a leprechaun. She worked really hard designing this awesome trap. She decided that tricking the leprechaun into the trap was the best option. So she made a "pretend" birthday party for the little guy. She just knew that leprechauns love parties!! I think she did a wonderful job especially when she decided to add the rainbow with the pot of gold on top of the roof. Very clever!!

So, St Patrick's day arrived and it just so happened that I had my brother and his family in town visiting me. Hannah made a very difficult choice to come spend time with them instead of going to school. I could see the sacrifice in her eyes BUT I also could see the love she had for her little cousin Tsamanda and that love overpowered the other desire. She made the choice to spend a final day with her cousin that she rarely sees, which I thought was a brave choice for a 7 year old who REALLY wanted to catch a tricky leprechaun!!

Valentine's Day!

Yes, I know this is a VERY LATE entry but I am still trying to catch up! It seems like as I start getting closer to being "caught up", more things just keep happening and I just get farther behind.

Here is Hannah on Valentine's Day 2008. She really loves this day because her daddy treats her like a princess. She loves the thought of "being in love" and "getting married" so this is definitely a day she enjoys. I hope for many, many more Valentine's Days before she actually accomplishes those thoughts she loves so much. :)

What a Bummer!

This was the BEST season of American Idol........EVER!!!

Ok, so I am soooo bummed that David Archuleta didn't win American Idol. I feel like I am still in mourning over it! He is just so awesome and then having someone that awesome from Murray, Utah was just too good to be true. I was so happy that he made it to the finals!!! YOU GO BOY!!

So, another reason I am going to miss seeing him performing is because he reminds me so much of what I invision Gabe to look like as a teenager. We called our little guy "mini-david" or "mini-archi". I'll have to round up a few pictures for comparison because I know at least one of you (Karie) haven't probably seen American Idol this year.

I hope you can see the resemblence from these photos. I think it's easier to see when Gabe is in person but I still think this gives you an idea.

So, farewell to our amazing David Archuleta but not for long because I just know that he'll put out an album. I did make sure to download quite a few of his Idol performances off of I-tunes to tide me over until then. I also bought tickets for me, my mom, and Hannah to go see all the Top 10 in concert when they are here in Utah...JULY 14th!!! I can't wait!!!

Got To See This, Too!!

I went to the "Twilight" Movie page and found a really cool video clip. There isn't a direct link so what you need to do is click on the Twilight link below and then off to the left hand side there is a "video gallery" link. Click on that. There is only one option to chose from.

I really can't wait for this movie to come out and this new video makes it so much worse. I think I may have to reread all the Twilight books just to tide myself over!!

Hope you enjoy!

Hannah's Jump-A-Thon Photos

Ok, so I am desperately trying to catch up with my blog entries and a couple were missing photos so I thought I'd quickly put them on here so I can get it out of the way.

These photos are for my post 1040"...Not a bad number...or is it? on April 7th, 2008.

The last photo is of the flowers that her daddy gave her for doing soooo well. We threw in a tub of chalks just to enhance how proud we were of her. I'm so glad that she didn't give up BUT I wish daddy wouldn't have been quite as motivating. I think she could have taken many more breaks to catch her breath, if you know what I mean :)

The Photos for "True Serive"

So here are the photos that go with my "True Service" posted on April 7th, 08.

This is what my living room looked like when Hannah watched Gabe for me while I was sick. For whatever reason, it doesn't look as messy as I remember it looking. Maybe when I'm not feeling well, I see things differently. I mean, I see that this is big mess but just not as HUGE as I remember it.

Hats, Hats, and More Hats!

So, I was looking through some of my photos that I need to blog about and I saw one topic that a few had in common. I decided to just make a fun entry of some cute photos of our family with silly hats on. It's so funny what kids (and adults) find entertaining :)

Gabe in his daddy's baseball cap. Isn't he cute?

Hannah in a fuzzy pink hat. We got it for her during a not-wanted visit to Vegas. Greg had a convention there and I chose to go along, which I'm still not sure why I did. I can't stand Vegas. We had to go to a session at the temple just to make me feel like I wasn't covered in smut!

Since Greg never reads my blog (I guess I can't say that anymore because he sat down last night and looked at a few of my posts but that just means he won't see this post for another year or so) he won't mind if I put a photo of him in bunny ears!! Oh how cute!! There's nothing better than my hot man in a pair of fuzzy bunny ears!!

Little buddy in a darling princess crown. I'm sure he'll love that one when he's a few years older. He wants to be just like his sister, which at this moment meant a "princess".

Here's Hannah in a cute Olympic hat. She had a Dr. Seuss (spelling?) day at school and they were encouraged to wear a silly hat, so this is what we came up with. Silly?...not so much. Cute?...as always! :)

So, here's another photo Gabe will just love when he's older. I think it's so funny how Hannah likes to dress him up in things. This time he ended up with the removable hat from her coat on his head. He didn't seem to mind, so I took a photo of it. He looks like a cute little Eskimo boy.

Well, that's the end of my fun "hat" photos. I'm really bummed that I didn't have any photos of me looking like a dork to share but that's how it goes sometimes, right? :)

I've Finished "The Host"

Ok, so I have now finished reading The Host by Stephanie Meyer. I don't want to say too much on here just incase people are either still reading it or are planning on reading it. BUT I do have to say that I don't think it's nice of Stephanie Meyer to mess with our emotions the way she did in this book. I mean, come on now...Ian & Wanda...Melanie & Jared...Jared & Wanda...Ian & Melanie...?????? I wasn't exactly sure who or what I was rooting for!! The book is over and I'm still not sure if I like how things turned out!! It just doesn't feel right. I think if I had my way it would be...The old Wanda & Jared...."Squish her as far back as you can and just make her disappear Wanda!!! You can do it!!! Push...Push...Push" I mean if the New Wanda's old tenant had disappeared then there must be a way, right? But then there's Jamie, oh man, that'll put a wrench in my plan....Now I'm back where I started again! I'm not sure what the perfect answer is BUT I know the way it ended was NOT the perfect way. It just feels wrong.

So, anyway, if you really want your emotions messed with then pick up the book and start reading. And the "being messed with" part doesn't happen until about the middle of the book so keep reading!!

And I agree with Jacquie, there definitely needs to be a sequel!

JACQUIE!!!

Ok Jacquie, I am now on Chapter 4 in "The Host" but I can't seem to find the time "alone" to get much progress. After reading your most recent post, which I couldn't comment on because there were spoilers, I am even now more determined to find the time! I will commit today to reading, except for when Gabe is awake, and see how far I can get. I'll email you with any comments :) I hope I get as hooked as you because right now all I can keep thinking is..."Who writes this stuff? Who comes up with this stuff?" but I'm still in the "hospital" scene. Wish me luck!

You've GOT To See This!!!

Ok, so my good friend Jackie encouraged me to go online and search for the new trailer for the movie "TWILIGHT".....You have got to see it!!!! Watch the trailer first then I'll go on to say a couple more things :)

So, everyone knows that I'm not a fan of the kid they casted to be Edward BUT the trailer made me think that it just might work!!! How exciting!!! Also, did everyone take note of the opening date?? It's DECEMBER 12TH so make sure you mark that on your calendar so that we can have a "girl's night out" and go see it :)
